Services

Dr. Knisley uses a combination of treatments and patient education unique to the condition, which provide both immediate relief along with the tools to combat future exacerbations of that condition.

Chiropractic Manipulation
Manipulation of the spine and extremity joints can aid in restoring movement of restricted segments. This therapy can also lead to increases in range of motion, a reduction of pain and an overall improvement of joint function. Spinal manipulation is often coupled with soft tissue therapies and therapeutic exercise for a well rounded and longer lasting result.

Soft Tissue Therapy
Therapies such as active release technique (ART) and instrument assisted soft tissue (Graston) are designed to address issues within muscles, tendons, and ligaments. By targeting areas of muscle tension, these therapies provide effective pain relief, improve flexibility by releasing tight muscles, contributing to enhanced joint mobility. They can also aid in achieving a greater range of motion in joints, making it beneficial for individuals looking to enhance their overall physical flexibility and reduce discomfort associated with musculoskeletal restrictions.

Corrective and Functional Exercises
These exercises are customized to address neuromusculoskeletal issues that result in pain and impaired functionality. They also focus on promoting proper posture correction and ensuring appropriate muscle activation. This is often combined with training designed to impart correct mechanics and enhance strength, ultimately facilitating daily activities and optimizing performance in specific sports.

Physical Therapy Session

The Mckenzie Method
This method is a way of looking at and treating back pain that focuses on understanding how your back responds to different movements and positions. After a careful evaluation, your back pain is put into specific groups based on how it behaves. Then, you're given exercises that are personalized to your type of back pain to help reduce discomfort and improve how your back works. The goal is to not just treat the pain but to empower you to take an active role in your own recovery. You'll learn exercises and techniques that you can do on your own to manage and prevent future episodes of back pain.

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization
DNS, or Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, is a rehab method that triggers the brain's movement control centers. It aims to revive and stabilize the way our bodies are naturally meant to move, restoring and enhancing locomotor function. By incorporating DNS, the goal is not only to enhance locomotor function but also to effectively reduce pain, providing a supportive foundation for early recovery.

Functional Range Conditioning
Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) is a tailored fitness approach that enhances joint flexibility, strengthens muscles, and improves overall movement control. It's like a personalized workout designed to make your body move smoothly and comfortably, building a strong foundation and reducing the risk of injuries. By incorporating FRC into your routine, you can feel more comfortable, less stiff, and enjoy better overall flexibility.
